help me pick some winter flats

right. basically i'm a complete idiot about flat shoes and i'm REALLY picky - i just love heels and peeptoes and whatever too much. so, i need some closed   (as in not peeptoe for once) flats for the winter, ie: durableish and don't let the cold and wet in too much. i must stress that i HATE ballet pumps and will scorn you for suggesting them. i love t bars, mary janes, etc etc, like most of us do! i'm not too bothered about colours (just no pink), although i'm really into gold and copper at the moment so thats a good direction to go in. everyone else seems to always find good flats but i think i'm weird about them because i have tiny ankles and quite long feet for my size - never fun.

anyhow, the only pair i have seen and liked are these, but in gold:

£28, topshop. leather. they are soft though and i reckon they would let rain in at the heel (a common problem with me and flats)

thoughts? suggestions? I'M RUBBISH HALP MAAAAH

those topshop ones are really nice but I doubt they'd be able to stand much in the way of weather...

http://www.schuhstore.co.uk/item_main_frameset.asp?s_ref=130893 are similar and they look a bit stronger & they're a bit cheaper.

also, these:
http://www.schuhstore.co.uk/item_main_frameset.asp?s_ref=130735 but the only nice colour is the black, the silver's okay though.

the first ones are okay, the toe looks overly round and i'd prefer the second strap to be an ankle one.

definately don't like the second ones because of the gaps at the side - weeeeeeird

Basically I'm not much help, but just recently my boyfriend was looking at my LJ and saw that your icon has a PUG in it. It makes us the most excited ever. Whenever you post here he's like "it's the girl with the pug on her shoulder!!!!".

I have the same shoe issue. I only like silly shoes and they always get wet and rubbish in winter. My latest scheme is the purchase of flimsy, foolish shoes, but then getting a decent shoe-repair-man to put proper soles and a decent heel on. I did it with a pair a couple of years ago and they turned out pretty good. It wouldn't work on all styles though I guess, meh. x

awww you and your bf are cute! my boyfriend would also get excited if he saw your icon, except he's all about black pugs rather than fawns.

sounds like a good plan, i just need to find some i like. i am such a nob about flats!

[pug spaz out] the other day we were walking on dartmoor and we met a lady who had THREE PUGS and two were black and they were so much nicer than the fawn one. Although the fawn one was apparantly really old, and it was really wheezy and dribbly. it was funny because we asked her for directions as we were lost, but we were so excited by stroking the beautiful pugs that we didn't listen to a word she actually said so when she left we were like "so which way did she say...? I dunno, she had such beautiful pugglies". One day we shall have a pug. Named Bertrand. And then maybe a second one named Pomeroy. [/pug spaz out]

ahahahahaha thats amazing! i saw a well cute fat black pug in hyde park the other day. it was sooo hot and he was wheezing loads (i read they are well shit at regulating their temperature so you shouldn't take them out on really hot days!). his owners are SHIT though, they were more interested in their STUPID BABY than him!!! when they went to leave, mr puggy came over to me

sorry for hijacking your pugness but my boyfriend also prefers black ones! and tonight his nan gave me a present which was a pug that she CROSS STITCHED!!! she put it in a frame and everything. I want oneeeeeeeeee

in terms of shoes - I love those topshop ones. I am considering buying them for wearing with dresses etc. I figure if it rains I will just wear boots!

I dunno what you thought about the white patent ones I got from New Look? Last time I went they were £5 in the sale so maybe you can find them, they're also in silver and gold I think.

T-bars are the only shoes that stay on my feet, the rest flap off my skinny heels so I hear yr pain :(

Also I got my photos developed at Snappy Snaps yesterday and they had a pug that lived in the developing area haha
